Violet Birch started Birch’s Adult Foster Care in Leonidas Michigan in 1960. Her desire was to “give back,” to those in her community who had given so much. Beginning with three residents, she moved them into her personal home, and cared for them alongside her own family. Her humble beginning has now grown to span three generations and has touched many lives. Her daughter, Diane, took over the management in 1980 and under her dedicated care, Birch Adult Foster Care has grown to a 12 resident home. With the opening of Birch Meadows, both the Birch name and the family legacy of exceptional care will be carried into the third generation with grandson Kirt Stauffer and his wife Carmel.
